What can I expect from my first therapy session?
The first session is spent getting to know you. We will explore your current stressors, history, strengths, and goals. We will complete any necessary assessments, answer your important questions, and review my policies. Here are some questions you might think about before our first session:
What’s been keeping you stuck and getting in the way?
What motivates you to make changes?
What do you miss doing that you haven’t had the time, interest, or energy to do in a while?
What gives your life meaning?
What are you unclear about in your life, that if you figured out would make a big difference?
How is your daily self-talk?
When does your issue or symptoms happen the most? How often?
How have you coped this long?
